Why Choose LED Grow Lights?

Why Choose LED Grow Lights
LED Grow Lights have increased in popularity during the last few years and have turned into a safe option to traditional Grow Lights. LED lighting is a good source of artificial light for your plants, and they're Eco friendly too. They may also offer your wallet a rest mainly because LED Grow Lights are so long-lasting and energy efficient. The first significant benefit of LED Lighting is the fact that they are so Eco friendly and efficient. Normal incandescent lighting contains mercury which is harmful to humans and also the environment. Mercury is among the worst pollutants and can cause an great deal of harm to humans, wildlife and plant-life. With LED lighting, that danger is avoided due to the fact there is no mercury, or any other heavy metals, contained within the lights. With all the talk about the environment suffering at the hands of humans, using an Eco friendly and energy saving LED Grow Light will help reduce your footprint on the environment. Grow lights like HPS and MH tend to run incredibly hot after only a couple of hours which is why a temperature control system is required if one wants to ensure the well being of the plants. Also, cooling systems are fairly expensive and not everybody knows the right way to operate them. That being said, LED Grow lights are extremely advantageous in this respect as they emit incredibly little heat. This indicates that even if they've been left on for several days, it'll be OK for you to touch them without burning your hand. And because a cooling system just isn't required, you can save a good deal of money on your electric bills if you make the switch to LED.

The second significant benefit of LED Grow Lights are that they are really long lasting and consume really very little power when compared to an HID system. It is estimated that the average LED Grow Light has roughly a 35,000-50,000 hour lifespan. Whenever you compare this to the 1,000-2,000 hour lifespan of incandescent lighting and you'll see just how much cash you will being throwing away when you choose to use standard Grow Lights. Why is the lifespan of LED lighting so high? Unlike conventional incandescent lighting, LED lights don't contain any filaments that can overheat and trigger the light to eventually burn out. Not only is this quite beneficial for local landfills, because it keeps metal halide lights out, but it also keeps money in your pocket. A third key benefit of LED Lighting is that the light they emit is designed to replicate specific wavelengths which are near the peak of the plants chlorophyll absorption levels. It's this targeted spectrum which help plants grow far more efficiently and produce more. Young plants or sprouts need to have light inside the blue spectrum to be able to grow. Adult plants which are ready to reproduce and bloom and/or fruit, require light a little more inside the red spectrum. So the bottom line is, while LED Grow Lights have not been around as long as standard HID, they're pound for pound the best choice for your money.

  1. Thanks for posting such a great Blog. Each LED Growing lights produces light cones so that when they are clustered into arrays the light cones overlap, increasing light intensity and color mixing, meaning your plants get the most diverse combination of blues and reds for better growth stimulation.
